About this course
The Counseling Psychology Internship focuses on empowering students to develop the skills and expertise needed to support individuals through personal, emotional, and career challenges. With an emphasis on evidence-based practices, this program provides hands-on experience with therapeutic modalities such as narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, and TEAM-CBT. Students will also gain insights into crisis management, suicide prevention, and family counseling, equipping them with the tools to handle diverse client needs.
Participants will learn how to establish a safe, empathetic, and culturally competent counseling environment while exploring teletherapy platforms to adapt to modern client requirements. Career counseling is another integral part of this internship, with students trained to use career assessment tools and provide guidance that empowers clients to make informed life and career decisions.
The program includes 6 industry visits to schools, NGOs, and community service organizations, offering students a glimpse into various counseling environments. The 5 immersive training sessions focus on honing core counseling techniques, career guidance skills, and crisis intervention strategies. By the end of the internship, participants will have the confidence to conduct counseling sessions effectively and support clients on their journey to growth and self-discovery.
